The Blues are in the running for the Stanley Cup, the weather is mild (not counting the typical Midwestern storms), and summer is unofficially here! Below, we’ve listed some family-friendly things to do in St. Louis this summer.
If you haven’t been, are you even a St. Louisan? Our zoo was recently awarded “Best Zoo” and “America’s Top Free Attraction.” It’s open all summer long, so what are you waiting for?
(2) City Museum
This one-of-a-kind St. Louis landmark is every kid’s wildest dream! With miles of tunnels, slides, and artistic marvels, the City Museum is truly a St. Louis treasure. You’ve got to take your kids there at least once this summer.
(3) The Children’s Fountain and Wading Pool at Tower Grove Park
Besides the nationally renowned Forest Park, there are lots of other green spaces in this city for families to explore. We particularly love Tower Grove Park. Kids love to cool off in the popjets and splash pad, open daily.
(4) Grant’s Farm
Another great place to take out-of-towners, this 281-acre attraction is home to to hundreds of animals. With rides, shows, and even a biergarten for the grownups, Grant’s Farm is a must sometime this summer.
(5) Children’s Garden at Missouri Botanical Garden
Free to residents every Saturday from 9:00 am to noon, this is another great place to take kids for a little education mixed with a lot of fun. Plus, you get to take in the absolute beauty of the Missouri Botanical Garden!
Speaking of educational fun, the Science Center is also free and full of activities that will keep your kids learning this summer.
(7) The Magic House
The Magic House in Kirkwood is one of those attractions, like City Museum, that parents with young kids just have to visit. Filled with kid-friendly activities, the Magic House is a great place to host summer birthday parties, too. Be sure to check out the free family months, every third Friday of the month!
(8) Epic 6 Sports Arena in Fenton
Ranked #3 by Kids Out and About, this humongous arena boasts laser tag, rock climbing, trampolines, obstacle courses, basketball, arcade games, and more. If you need a place to take your older kids, this is a definite must-see.
(9) Edison’s Entertainment Complex
Everyone loves bowling, right? If Epic 6 isn’t enough for your active family, give Edison’s a try. This place offers bowling as well as laser tag, an arcade, and a lounge for parents.
(10) Myseum
This is St. Louis’ newest destination for kids, offering scientific fun and learning. One thing to note: socks are required.
