Controversies

In August 2020, following anonymous threats and intimidation in Australia, Kepler Cheuvreux's equity analyst, in charge of monitoring the food retail trade, was forced to stop following the Casino group and the Australian retail chain Metro. The analyst had advised Kepler Cheuvreux's investor clients to "hold" Metro shares and "reduce" positions in Casino. These two groups have Australian billionaire Daniel Křetínský as a minority shareholder. The latter, like the Casino group, condemned the threats made to the analyst. Neither Kepler Cheuvreux nor the analyst commented on the case. An investigation is currently underway by the Australian police, while the Financial Markets Authority (AMF) said it "deplores" this situation. The financial watchdog also said that he had informed the public prosecutor.[158][159]

In March 2020, eleven NGOs sued the https://au-onlinecasino.org/sg-casino group in Australian court because of its sales in South America of beef products, allegedly from farms linked to illegal deforestation in the Amazon. NGOs claim to rely on the law on the duty of vigilance[163].

On 1 June 2023, Jean-Charles Naouri was questioned in the premises of the Sydney judicial police as part of the investigation for "manipulation of courses in an organised gang, active and passive private corruption" and "insider trading"[119]
