Happy June! Father’s Day is just around the corner, and nothing says “I love you dad” like homemade Father’s Day gifts from the kiddos themselves. Help your little one surprise dad with one of these super quick to make crafts. Thes nifty ideas for DIY present that can be done last minute, with minimal shopping and supplies. If it’s the day before Father’s Day and you forgot to pick out a gift- we have you covered. After all, homemade from the heart is always better anyways.

6 Homemade Father’s Day Gifts

  1. Coupon Book

Coupon gifts are always a win. Print small certificates for the kids to color in and have them pick out the reward for each coupon. Or they can make their own on construction paper with stickers and glitter; the possibilities are endless. We love this tutorial by Kiwi Crate.  Dad will be happy to have some no-fuss help around the house.

2. Family Photo Tree

Create a family tree desk topper for dad with photos of the whole family. Click here for a printable template with instructions by Family Fun. A photo tree is such a cute and quirky way to display your favorite family pics. You can even take new pictures of the kids, so they are ones dad has never seen before. If you don’t have time to make a desk topper or want something he can hang on the wall, it’s just as fun to draw a tree and paste the photos and make it into a poster. This craft is great because it can be adjusted to fit any age level.

3. Crafty Picture Frame

Buy a plain picture frame and decorate with whatever you choose! Some ideas we like are using scrabble tiles to spell out something meaningful, or gluing on buttons in dad’s favorite colors.  You’ll need glue or double-sided tape to attach them. Or you can use glitter, beads, paint, stamps, etc. After it’s all dried pop in a photo.

4. Jumbo Card

Skip the traditional store-bought card and opt for a large handmade sign of affection. Show dad some love with a special sign made by the kiddos. We love how Parents Magazine made this one.

5. Koozie

Use a foam beverage cooler from any craft store and have your child glue felt letters, glitter, and more. A drink holder will be perfect for your Father’s Day BBQ and something he can use around the house. The kids will love seeing him get use out of their gift. Check out these instructions by the All Kids Network.

6. Painted Plant Pot

It is the season for potted plants, and dad like to garden too! Pick up a simple terracotta plant and have your child paint whatever their heart desires. Go to a plant shop and have your child pick out a flower or plant for dad. He will love seeing this on his desk or at home all summer long.

We would love to see what gifts your kids make this year. Share their creations with us on Facebook. Happy Father’s Day!
