  1. Take a lap around Stienberg Skating Rink. The cool brisk air will make the hot cocoa even sweeter as you ice-skate and twirl in style in the largest open air skating rink in the Midwest.
  2. If you prefer something a little more relaxing you can sip on warm beverages while enjoying appetizers next to a roaring fire. Many local restaurants now boast fire pits for your pleasure. One perennial favorite is the patio at Sasha’s on Shaw in the Tower Grove area.
  3. While you are in Tower Grove you can stop by The Missouri Botanical Gardens for the Annual Garden Glow.  This is a fun event for families too, but there is something special about strolling hand in hand with a special someone surrounded by the twinkling lights.
  4. We already mentioned that sitting by a fire is a romantic way to spend an evening. If outdoor fires aren’t your thing there are plenty of indoor options around as well. The Bierskellar at Schneidhorst’s in Ladue is always a nice option. With delicious food and a roaring fire, your evening is bound to be romantic.
  5. If you are looking for a sweet treat you can’t go wrong with a cup of cocoa from Kakao in Maplewood. These chocolate experts really know their way around a steaming much of cocoa. While you are in the area you can stroll down Manchester and stop in some really unique shops and restaurants.
  6. Of course, the holiday season for many people means heading to the mall for gifts for their loved ones. Shopping is much easier without little ones in tow. The noise and the crowd is a lot less stressful when you don’t have to worry about little bodies in the mix. Strolling through the mall with your loved one may even be fun when you can casually walk around and soak it all in.
  7. Then again, all of the hustle and bustle of the holiday season can be exhausting. Maybe an early winter’s nap is what you need to get yourself refreshed and ready to take on more. It may not seem like the most romantic way to spend your time without the kiddos, but a little extra sleep can keep the Grinch away!

No matter what is on the agenda, the staff at ALC is excited to spend December 12th crafting, reading and playing with the kids. There will be dinner and a movie too! So find something amazing to do with your significant other, and know that this kids will be having fun too.
